Adulterated fuel: NSCDC to prosecute truck owners

Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps in Osun State, Tajudeen Balogun has said the agency will henceforth arrest and prosecute owners of vehicles caught transporting adulterated petroleum products alongside owners of the adulterated products.

Balogun, said this in a statement made available to newsmen in Osogbo on Sunday.

The commandant said that the security agency would do everything to ensure that the state was rid of pipeline vandals and other economic saboteurs.

He warned fuel marketers against engaging in adulteration, saying this had caused loss of lives and destruction of property which he said the agency had the mandate to stop.

According to him, the NCSDC officials have been deployed in the nooks and crannies of the state, in a bid to enforce the directive given by the Commandant General of the Corps, Dr. Ade Abolurin on zero tolerance for pipeline vandalization, adulteration and diversion of petroleum products.
