Barring unforeseen circumstances, the current National President of the Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA), Prince Olayiwola Shittu, will be re-elected unopposed at the association’s National Executive Committee (NECOM) election scheduled to hold next Monday.
The list of aspirants released by the ANLCA Electoral Commission (ASECO) yesterday listed Shittu as the only candidate vying for the post of President.
Apart from the positions of Zonal Coordinators, each of the other positions has only the incumbents listed as contestants. They are Emenike Nwokeoji, Vice National President; Dr. Emma Ogu Oparah, National Secretary; Alh. Bojuri Hamzat, Treasurer; Dr. Obi Cee Okonkwo, National Publicity Secretary and Dada Agubuzo, Financial Secretary.
Three contestants are however jostling for the position of Zonal Coordinator West and another three for Zonal Coordinator East.
John Ofobike Alfred, Ozor Felix Chukwura and Oyekangu Liasu Bayo were all listed as contestants for the position of Zonal Coordinator West while Prestige Ossy, Raymond Enekwechi and Dennis Ukwu are listed as Zonal Cordinator East contestants.
A statement signed by the Chairman of ASECO, Abdulazeez Babatunde Mukhaila, stated that sales of form for the various positions have closed while screening of the candidates will hold today and tomorrow.
