ANLCA to commence e-voting soon

The Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA) has declared its preparedness to embrace electronic voting in future.

This was made known by the Chairman, Association Electoral Committee (ASECO) of the association, Alhaji Mukaila Abdulazeez during the swearing in ceremony of the Eastern Zone Executive at the association’s secretariat in Lagos on Tuesday.

National President of the association, Prince Olayiwola Shittu welcomed the idea but informed the ASECO chairman that his proposal would be subject to the approval of the National Executive Committee (NECOM) of the association.

Shittu said all that happened during the Eastern zone election was a testimony that all was well with the association.

He said, “ANLCA is populated by human beings who are by nature, susceptible to make mistakes. Mistakes are bound to be corrected for ANLCA to remain stronger, united, focused and progress to higher level.

“A situation of threats to life and property because of elections is absolutely unnecessary, especially in a professional association, as ANLCA.

“I want you to embrace peace, extend a hand of fellowship to those who felt aggrieved and endeavour to carry everyone along in the discharge of your official responsibilities.”
