Another set 180 repatriated Nigerian migrants from Libya arrive Lagos

Another batch of 180 repatriated Nigerian migrants from Libya late Monday arrived the Cargo Wing of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos.

The migrants arrived from the worn-torn North African country at about 9.30 p.m. aboard a chartered Buraq Air aircraft facilitated by the International Organisation for Migration (IOM) and European Union under the Assisted Voluntary Returnees (AVR) Programme.

According to the Coordinator, Lagos Territorial Office of National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Alhaji Idris Muhammed, who made the disclosure on Tuesday, said the returnee migrants are made up of 82 female adults, two female children and 11 female infants.

He further said 79 male adults, one male child and five male infants making up 95 females and 85 males are among the returnees.

Muhammed urged them to put their bitter experiences in Libya behind them and look to the future with renewed hope.

He said another batch of 160 Nigerians is expected to arrive on Tuesday from Libya at about 8.30 p.m.
