Apapa Customs collects over N20bn in April

The Apapa Area 1 Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has said that it collected over N20 billion as revenue in the month of April.
This is against the sum of N18.8 billion recorded in March, and a shortfall of about N19 billion in the expected monthly revenue target of N39billion.
A breakdown of the revenue figures in a statement signed by the Customs Public Relations Officer of the command, Chief Superintendent of Customs Emmanuel Ekpa, a copy which was obtained by SHIPS & PORTS DAILY showed that the revenue generated into the Federation Account stood at N8.40 billion, while non-Federation Account stood at N9.13 billion in the month under review.
The statement said that the Negotiable Duty Credit Certificate (NDCC) stood at N2.5 billion, while the seven per cent levy on the NDCC was N188 million.
