Customs arrests 4 suspects, intercepts smuggled goods

The Oyo-Osun Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has arrested four suspected smugglers at the borders of Oyo and Osun states.

The Controller in charge of the command, Comptroller Christopher Odibu, said the command also intercepted one truck carrying 600 bags of fertiliser, 54 bales of second hand clothes, 35 bags of smuggled rice and 60 kegs of vegetable oil.

He added that one suspect whose case was still in the court for fraudulently parading himself as a custom officer has been arrested.

He said the command also intercepted 11 vehicles carrying 340 bags of rice, a truck carrying computer accessories, 131 bales of second hand clothes and 40 sacks of used shoes.
