Ghana intercepts Tramadol packaged as noodles from smugglers

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) Murtala Muhammed International (MMIA) Airport Command on Friday impounded 180 cartons of Tramadol capsules worth $181,000.

The seizure was said to have been made at the import shed of the Skyway Aviation Handling Company Limited on Friday (SAHCOL).

This is barely 24 hours after the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) impounded four tonnes of Tramadol capsules at the airport.

The seized consignment was handed over to the National Agency for Food, Drugs Administration and Control (NAFDAC) by the Customs Area Comptroller, Airport Command, Jayne Shoboiki through its Deputy Director, Udoekpo Ekpo for “further necessary action”.

Ekpo commended the Nigerian Customs for cooperating and collaborating with it in the area of intelligence sharing, stressing that the agency would continue to rid the country of illicit drugs.
