Customs seizes cigarettes declared as millet at Lagos port

Four containers of cigarettes falsely declared as millet have been seized by the Apapa Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service at the Lagos Port Complex Apapa.

The Comptroller of the command, Willy Egbudin, told reporters yesterday that the cargo with products from China had not been certified by any control agency in Nigeria and had no production and expiry date.

The four containers, declared as millet, proved to be packs of cigarette upon examination, Egbudin said.
