DELTA: Water taxi operator dies in brawl

Tragedy struck a member of the Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria (MWUN) in Bomadi, headquarters of Bomadi Local Government Area, Delta State was, recently, who was allegedly killed during a brawl with a rival water taxi operator over embarkation of opassengers.
Identified as Mr. Kuku Endurance, the 31-year-old victim allegedly engaged in pysical combat with one Mr. Thank God, now at large, after those at the scene could not resolve the duo’s long-drawn argument over fare.

It was learnt that in the ensuing brawl, the deceased had allegedly been held by the throat and subsequently strangled to death by Thank God.According to sources, Thank God had fled the scene and gone into hiding to escape the wrath of the deceased relatives.

Eyewitneess accounts explained that the rampaging deceased’s relatives allegedly destroyed the building belonging to MWUN when they could not lay their hands on the suspected assailant, while those around fled the scene after the tragic incidence for fear of being arrested by the Police for questioning.

The body of the deceased, it was learnt, was promptly deposited at the Bomadi General Hospital morgue, while the Police has mounted a manhunt for suspected assailant.
