The Niger State Police command has arrested a fake Customs Official, Yusuf Attah, from the Kagara Local Government Area of the state.

It was learnt that the suspect defrauded three victims of N119,000 each under false pretences of helping them to secure employment into the Nigerian Customs Service.

It was gathered that the command’s operatives trailed and arrested Attah, who claimed to be a recruitment officer with the NCS.

The Command Public Relations Officer, Bala Elkana, disclosed this in Minna, Niger State.

Elkana said the suspect told the three victims, Abubakar Yusuf, Mohammed Saba and Mohammed Aliyu, to bring the sum of N119,000 each for employment.

He said, “The police will continue to look for such people and deal with them decisively so that it will serve as a deterrent to other criminally minded persons.”

He said the command had recovered the exhibits and charged the case to court.

The spokesman also warned job seekers to go to the appropriate place to obtain information concerning jobs they were looking for to avoid falling victims.
