All passengers from the passenger/car ferry Caribbean Fantasy, which ignited earlier yeaterday, were safely disembarked from the ship and brought to San Juan’s Pier 6, according to the United States Coast Guard’s twitter account.
The fire on board the ship started while it was some 1 mile off the coast of San Juan, Puerto Rico.
At the time of the incident there were some 512 passengers and crew aboard the 1989-built vessel.
USCG reported that the ferry ran aground some 800 yards off Punta Salinas.
