A group within the Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA) known as the ANLCA Core Integrity Group has threatened to seek the removal of the association’s Board of Trustees (BoT) chairman, Chief Henry Njoku if he fails to withdraw his directive asking the ANLCA National President, Prince Olayiwola Shittu to respond to allegations made by a faceless group.
In an undated letter made available to SHIPS & PORTS DAILY and signed by 10 of its members, the group gave Njoku 14 days to retract his directive to Shittu or risk sack.
“We will not close our eyes and see you destroy the good work of the present NECOM by desecrating your exalted position through descending into the area through unconstitutional means.
“You should retract your write up under reference within 14 days and show reasons why you should not be removed for dereliction of duty – an act not befitting your status,” the group stated.
The ANLCA Integrity Group also accused Njoku of disregard for the association’s constitution “which you swore on oath to abide with”.
On the allegation of alleged misappropriation of ANLCA funds for which Njoku had earlier asked Shittu to respond to, the group said, “We are constrained to believing that these spurious allegations are your brainchild to whittle down the achievement of the present NECOM, create a lacuna and return us to feudal leadership era of the association where the board is run as a personal empire.”
Those who signed the letter to Njoku include, Elder T.A Abel of Asora Nigeria limited; Yomi Ajibola, Ketaid System limited; Ovien Micheal, Binlak Ventures Limited; and Femi Makinde, Compass Shipping.
Others are Tunisia Olasunkanmi,TYI Trinity Oil field; Bola Adeniran, Modandola Action Services; Alhaji Tijani, Mulison Int. Limited; Dada Agubiri, Dumac Investment Ltd and Emeka Adaragbo, Shollybon Nigeria Limited.
When contacted, Chief Njoku said he could not talk because he was in a meeting.
