Gunmen attack NPA top official’s children, snatch vehicle

The General Manager, Abuja Liaison Office of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Mallam Nasir Anas Mohammed has reportedly lost a Lexus jeep vehicle to armed robbers on the night of Christmas eve when the robbers attacked his children around the National Stadium area of Surulere, Lagos.

Anas Mohammed was the Port Manager, Lagos Port Complex Apapa before his appointment in June this year to head NPA’s Abuja Liaison Office.

The children were being conveyed from the airport having arrived late into Lagos as a result of the severe harmattan dust in Kano that delayed the take off of all flights till night.

It was learnt that although the ordeal lasted about two hours as they were driven about including to an ATM, neither the children nor their driver was physically harmed. They were later dropped around 1am while the robbers fled with their vehicle and all personal belongings.

The robbery was learnt to have been immediately reported to the Surulere Police Station where the particulars of the Lexus 330 jeep vehicle was given as registration number AAA57BC, chassis no. JTJHA21U340022872 and engine no. 0018828.

The public have also been urged to inform the police if they see the missing vehicle.
