Gunmen kill Customs officer at Seme border

Unidentified gunmen penultimate Saturday shot and killed Adamawa State-born Senior Inspector of Customs Musa Bala at the Seme Border Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS).
Confirming the development, the Customs Public Relations Officer at the command, Deputy Superintendent of Customs Ernest Ollotah, said that the incident came as a shock to the command, adding that the remains of the officer had been deposited at the mortuary of the Badagry General Hospital.
Ollotah said the command was still awaiting the report of the incident from the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), which is investigating the matter.

The incident, according to Ollotah, took place at about 5.00am, a few metres from Customs Barracks in Seme.
He said that the command would not jump into conclusion over the incident, but would await the Police report.
Olottah explained that the family of the deceased officer had been notified, and that the deceased’s brother had visited the command for consultations.
The late officer, according to Olottah, will be buried after investigation into his death.
