HARD DRUGS: NDLEA arrests 2 Customs agents at MMIA
… Fake Guinean too

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has nabbed two Customs agents for allegedly attempting to ship 12 kilogrammes of methamphetamine to South Africa through the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Ikeja, Lagos.
Similarly, the NDLEA, at the MMIA, also arrested a Nigerian, who allegedly posed as a Guinean, while attempting to export 43.6 kilogrammes of cannabis to China.
The NDLEA Commander at the MMIA, Mr. Hamza Umar, named the two clearing agents, both males, who were arrested in connection with the alleged shipment of 12 kilogrammes of methamphetamine, as Samuel Williams, 40, and Adams Adewunmi Samuel, 35.
While the former is from Delta State, the latter is from Ogun State, according to the NDLEA.
After his arrest, Samuel Williams allegedltold the NDLEA that he collected the consignment from a member of a drug syndicate and gave it to his colleague, Adams Adewunmi Samuel, to export to South Africa.
The drug was allegedly found concealed in a consignment of female artificial hair.

“My friend in South Africa called me to send some hair attachment to him. When they brought the package to me, I then gave it to my colleague on export desk because I specialise in import clearance,” Samuel Williams said during questioning by the NDLEA.
On his part, his colleague told the NDLEA that he was allegedly requested to send the package to South Africa by Samuel Williams.
“I was given the package by Samuel Williams. It was during examination that NDLEA officers detected the drugs inside the hair attachment,” Adams Adewunmi Samuel said.
The third suspect, who hails from Anambra State, and whose real name is Sylvester Nnamdi Augustine, was allegedly caught with a Guinean International passport bearing Keita Mamady, 38.

The NDLEA Commander, The MMIA, Mr. Hamza Umar, said: “This 43.6kg is the highest cannabis seizure since the beginning of the year. Like several seizures in the past, the cannabis was hidden inside foodstuff. The drug was discovered during routine examination.”
The drug, according to the suspect, was to be delivered at Hong Kong, while he would have proceeded to Guangzhou on Mainland China.
He said: “I was told to deliver the drug in Hong Kong on my way to Guangzhou. Unfortunately, the drug was discovered by the NDLEA officers at the luggage checking desk. I am a businessman, and I live in Guinea where I obtained my passport.”
