High Chief Ajayi appointed General Manager NPA Western Ports

Former image maker of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), High Chief Michael Kayode Ajayi has been appointed as the new General Manager, Western Ports of NPA.

He takes over from Ms. Adenike Sonaike who retired from service last year.

A holder of three traditional titles and a Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM), Ajayi attended Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife and the University of Ibadan where he bagged B.A. (Combined Honours) in Political Science and Philosophy; and MSc in Public Administration.

A prolific writer, Ajayi has served in various capacities at NPA holding notable positions including General Manager Administration before his posting to head the Public Affairs unit in 2010.

He is the Chief Patron of Lagos Referees Association.

He has received several awards and honours in the course of the discharge of his duties including the outstanding image maker award of the Maritime Reporters Association of Nigeria (MARAN).

Ajayi has been credited with the ability to think out of the box and with various innovations including the rebranding of the NPA in-house magazine while serving as the Authority’s spokesman.
