A 66-year-old man, identified as Alhaji Mohammed Jibrin, was on Tuesday arraigned before an Apapa Magistrate’s Court for allegedly removing truck from Apapa Wharf gate.
Jibrin is facing a one-count charge of unlawful removal.
The port prosecutor, Alexander Esebamen, told the court that the defendant committed the offence between September 25, 2018 and June 10, 2019 at Apapa.
“The defendant unlawfully removed truck number AKD 264 XW belonging to Chinedu Julius Ohiaeriaku from Apapa Wharf gate to Brunnel Logistics Global Solution Limited premises, Apapa which interfere with its usage,” Esebamen said.
According to him, the offence is punishable under section 340 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.
The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charge.
Magistrate Adegboyega Popoola granted him bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties each like sum.
The sureties are required to furnish the court with proof of tax payment to Lagos State Government.
He adjourned the case till July 18, 2019 for mention.
