Man arraigned for stealing N10,000 from dockworker

Four docked for stealing items worth N.7m at Apapa port

A 23-year-old man, identified as Toheeb Sulaimon was on Thursday arraigned before an Apapa Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing N100,000 from a dock worker, Damilola Owowa, at Apapa.

Sulaimon is facing a two-count charge bothering on conspiracy and stealing.

The prosecutor, Inspector Edet Ekpo, told the court that the defendant committed the offences on July 23, 2018 at about 8:15pm at Railway Line, Ijora Badia, Apapa.

“The defendant conspired with others at large to steal N100,000 property of one Damilola Owowa,” Ekpo said.

According to him, the offences are punishable under sections 411 and 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2015.

The defendant pleaded guilty to the charges.

Magistrate, Nurudeen Layeni, adjourned the case till July 31, 2018 for facts and sentence.
