Man gets N30,000 bail for stealing N35,000 iron 

Fake travel agent docked for N265,000 visa fraud

An Apapa Magistrates’ Court on Monday admitted a 43-year-old man identified as Abdularahaman Yusuf to a N30,000 bail after he was arraigned for allegedly stealing iron worth N35,000 at Apapa.

Yusuf is facing one-count charge of stealing.

The prosecutor, Inspector Feddy Asu, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on November 21, 2018 at about 4am at Mile 2, Apapa.

“The defendant stole iron valued at N35,000 property of one Lukmon Ibrahim,” Asu said.

According to him, the offence is punishable under section 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2015.

The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charge brought against him.

Magistrate M.O Olubi granted the defendant bail in the sum of N30,000 with one surety.

The surety, according to the Magistrate, must be a blood relative to the defendant.

He adjourned the case till December 10, 2018 for mention.
