Man pleads guilty to stealing Dangote salt

Four docked for stealing items worth N.7m at Apapa port

A 38-year-old man, identified as Adesumi Afolaya, was on Thursday arraigned before an Apapa Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing crude salt belonging to Dangote Salt Plc.

The prosecutor, Sergeant Friday Inedu told the court that the accused committed the offence on January 8, 2018 at about 11:15am at Burma Road, Apapa.

Inedu said the stolen crude salt was worth N30,000.

According to him, the offence contravened Section 287 of the Criminal

Laws of Lagos State, 2015.

The accused pleaded guilty to the one-count charge brought against him.

Magistrate Temitope Babalola adjourned the case till January 15, 2018 for facts and sentence.
