The Maritime Arbitrators Association of Nigeria (MAAN) is set to hold its yearly Maritime Dispute Resolution seminar in continuation of its advocacy role.
The event will on Wednesday and Thursday next week in Lagos.
MAAN President, Dr. Omogbai Omo- Eboh, said the seminar is aimed at creating awareness on alternative dispute resolutions among industry stakeholders.
“We chose the theme Marine Insurance Claims because you cannot separate shipping and maritime business from marine insurance. Marine insurance is all about shifting the risk of maritime business from the operators to the insurance companies. So no serious minded operator in the shipping industry anywhere in the world can operate successfully without having marine insurance cover,” he said.
