Minimum wage: FG to take stand on Monday

Minimum Wage: FG yet to reach agreement with Labour

Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr Chris Ngige, has said the Federal Government will on Monday take a position on the new national minimum wage.

He disclosed to State House correspondents on Friday that an enlarged meeting of all key stakeholders in the government circle at both federal and states had been scheduled for Monday.

According to Ngige, the decision would be taken at the end of the meeting before a draft law would be transmitted to the National Assembly by President Muhammadu Buhari on the new national minimum wage law.

The organized labour had proposed N30,000, while the Federal government says N24,000 and state governments are saying N20,000 for the national minimum wage.
