Motor boy pleads guilty to N113,000 theft

Four docked for stealing items worth N.7m at Apapa port

A 23-year-old motor boy, Oluchukwu Ejem, was on Friday arraigned before an Apapa Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing phones worth N113,000 at Apapa.

Ejem is facing a two-count charge bordering on conspiracy and stealing.

The prosecutor, Sergeant Marvellous Ogbongha, told the court that the defendant committed the offences sometime in the month of September 2018 at Sunrise area, Olodi-Apapa.

“The defendant conspired together with others to steal one Inifinix Hot 6 handset valued at N49,000, Camon X handset valued at N49,000 and Hawai handset valued at N15,000. Total N113,000 properties of Onyebuchi Opara, Bukola Olasunkanmi and Oliver Eghos,” Obongha said.

According to him, the offences are punishable under sections 411 and 287 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State 2015.

The defendant pleaded guilty to the charges against him.

The Magistrate, K.A Ariyo adjourned the matter till December 18, 2018 for facts and sentence.
