New container terminal in Vancouver goes up for sale

Canada’s Port Metro Vancouver has invited investors interested in the development of the terminal superstructure and equipment, and the subsequent running of the new container terminal at Roberts Bank to respond to a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for Terminal Development and Operating Concession.

The terminal operator will operate there for a period of up to 40 years.

It will be responsible for terminal facilities and equipment as well as ongoing container handling operations.

Interested parties have been requested to submit registration documents by June 15, and statements of qualifications by August 28.

The design, financing, construction and maintenance of the land base is scheduled to be carried out by a Land Base Contractor selected by Port Metro Vancouver in a separate process.

The Roberts Bank Terminal 2 Project is a proposed new three-berth container terminal at Roberts Bank in British Columbia, Canada.

Baring any unforeseen delays, construction of the terminal could begin in 2018.
