New Customs CG, Ali holds meeting with Atte, others

Newly appointed Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), retired Col. Hameed Ali yesterday visited the Customs headquarters located at Wuse Zone 3, Abuja for the first time since his appointment on Thursday last week.

SHIPS & PORTS DAILY gathered that Ali held a brief meeting with the former Acting Comptroller-General of Customs John Atte and other Deputy Comptroller-Generals of Customs before leaving.

“He just came in briefly. He left after only about two hours. I’m not sure he has resumed yet,” a source at the Customs Headquarters told SHIPS & PORTS DAILY.

Customs Deputy Public Relations Officer, Joseph Attah who confirmed the visit also confirmed that Ali held a brief discussion with the DCGs before leaving.

“I can just confirm to you that he came to the headquarters today, had a brief talk with the Deputy Comptroller Generals and left,” Attah told SHIPS & PORTS DAILY yesterday.

Ali was in mufti when he visited the Customs headquarters.
