The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has graduated 1,268 cadets who have just completed their basic training in the Service.
At a colourful passing out parade held at the Customs Training College, Ikeja, Lagos yesterday, Comptroller-General of Customs Dikko Inde Abdulahi charged the cadets to be good ambassadors of the Service in the discharge of their duties.
Represented by Deputy Comptroller- General John Atte, Abdulahi noted that the level of training the cadets underwent at the college will gear them for the challenges ahead.
“With the level of entry qualifications you had, the depth of training you have been exposed to, and the improved welfare and working conditions in the Service, our hope of effective discharge of these responsibilities rest squarely on your shoulders,” the Customs chief said.
The cadets, who spents six months at the college, were trained in various courses, including: Enforcement, Administration, Excise, Import and Export procedures, Classification and Valuation, among others.
Highlight of the parade included awards of excellence to cadets who distinguished themselves during the period of their training.
