NSC enlightens freight forwarders on Port Service Support Portal

The Nigerian Shippers’ Council has embarked on enlightenment clinic with major freight forwarders on the smooth operations of the Port Service Support Portal (PSSP).

PSSP, which is a web-based complaints mechanism, is aimed at creating a platform for prompt handling of shipping complaints and problems.

The clinic, which is specifically structured for major freight forwarders, is aimed at exposing them to an indepth understanding of the operations of scheme.

The scheme which is being handled by the Complaints Unit of the Council, will among other things strive to educate and enlighten freight forwarders on the importance of the newly created portal to the industry.

The Clinic which is a continuous enlightenment programme is meant for officers of the Council for Regulation of freight forwarding in Nigeria (CRFFN); Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agent (ANCLA); National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF); Association of Registered Freight Forwarders in Nigeria (AREFFN); and the National Council of Managing Directors of Licensed Customs Agent (NCMDLCA), among other groups.

It would be recalled that the Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo  launched the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) and Port Service Support Portal (PSSP) in Abuja where he urged Nigerians to support the Federal Government’s effort of making Nigeria a regional maritime hub.
