Police arraign man for stealing 400 litres of diesel

Four docked for stealing items worth N.7m at Apapa port

A 40-year-old man, Kingsley Obot, has been arraigned before an Apapa Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing 400 litres of diesel belonging to one supplier, Bode Ajisafe.

The police prosecutor, Sergeant Friday Inedu told the court the accused committed the offence on June 6, 2018 at about 2:30am at Sandfield, First Gate, Tin-Can Island Ports premises, Apapa.

Inedu said the accused stole 400 litres of diesel valued at N80,000 property of one Bode Ajisafe of No. 20 Creek Road, Apapa.

According to the prosecutor, the offences contravened Section 285 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2011.

The accused pleaded not guilty to the one-count charge brought against him.

The Magistrate, Temitope Babalola granted the accused bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum.

He adjourned the case till July 4, 2018 for mention.
