Police arraign man for stealing 7 truck tyres in Apapa

A 27-year-old man, Dare Odejobi, was on Friday arraigned before an Apapa Magistrate’s Court for allegedly stealing seven truck tyres belonging to GMT Haulage.

Odejobi is facing a one charge of stealing. The prosecutor, Inspector Augustine Ejembi, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on May 17, 2019 at about 2pm at Okoduwa Street, Kirikiri, Apapa.

According to him, the offence is punishable under section 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015. The defendant pleaded not guilty.

Magistrate Ayisha Grillo granted the defendant bail in the sum of N50,000 with one surety. The surety is required to furnish the court with proof of tax payment to Lagos State Government.

She adjourned the matter till June 3, 2019 for mention.
