Three men namely, Sule Isah (19), Habeeb Amodu (18) and Salisu Ibrahim (30) were on Friday arraigned before an Apapa Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing truck battery in Apapa.
Isah, Amodu and Ibrahim are facing a three-count charge bordering on conspiracy and stealing.
The prosecutor, Inspector Benedict Aigbokhan, told the court that the defendants committed the offences sometime in the month of October 2018 at about 2am at Temidire Street, Olodi-Apapa.
“The defendants conspired together to steal one truck battery valued at N25,000 property of one Ibrahim Isah,” Aigbokhan said.
The prosecutor also said that one of the defendants, Salisu Ibrahim, sometime in the month of October 2018 at Achakpo Market received the stolen truck battery valued at N25,000 property of one Ibrahim Isah.
According to him, the offences are punishable under sections 411, 287 and 328 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.
The defendants pleaded not guilty to the all the charges against them.
Magistrate Joy Ugbomoiko granted the defendants bail in the sum of N50,000 with one surety.
The surety, according to the Magistrate, must furnish the court with proof of Lagos State Residents Registration Agency (LASRRA) and evidence of tax payment to the Lagos State Government.
She adjourned the matter till January 16, 2019 for mention.
