Police nabs fake Assistant Comptroller of Customs in Ogun

The Police in Ogun State has nabbed a self-professed Assistant Comptroller of the Nigerian Customs Service (NCS).

The 55-year-old man, Ariyo Wasiu, who was arrested in the Agbara area of the state, has duped many unsuspecting Nigerians.

The state police spokesman, Abimbola Oyeyemi, who confirmed the arrest, said the suspect, a resident of Lagos Island, was dismissed six years ago from the Mechanic Department of Customs for act of indiscipline.

“The dismissed officer was arrested while perfecting his act at a company in the Agbara area of the state.

“Upon interrogation, the suspect claimed that he was lured into duping as a result of the current harsh economic reality. “Investigation have begun to determine the culpability or otherwise of the fake Assistant Comptroller of Customs.

“Charges would be filed after investigations,” the police image maker stated.
