Police seize truck, charge four to court for forging NPA sticker

A man whose truck was seized by the police more than two months ago for using forged Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) sticker is asking the Apapa Magistrate Court to order release of the truck. He filed a motion on notice for the release on Thursday.

According to the truck owner, Sani Ogar, the truck was seized from his driver, Abubakar Jibirin by the officers of Western Port Police Command, Lagos.

“Four persons had initially been charged to court for conspiracy and forging Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) truck sticker number A1260 on my truck.

“However, those people had been granted bail and the bail conditions had been met. They had also been released from custody but my truck is still detained at the Port Police Station, Lagos,” Ogar declared.

Counsel to the truck owner, Barrister Chris Okani, said all efforts to have the truck released by the Police proved abortive.

The Chief Magistrate, Mrs O.O Oshin adjourned the case till November 7 for further hearing.
