Security guard steals armoured cable in Apapa

A 25-year-old security guard, Ayuba Gambo, was on Monday arraigned before an Apapa Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing two armoured cables valued N70,000 in Apapa.

Gambo is facing a one-count charge bordering on stealing.

The prosecutor, Inspector Perezi Donjor, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on January 9, 2019 at about 6am at Dockyard Road, Apapa.

“The defendant being a security guard stole two armoured cables valued at N70,000 property of Nosak Farm Produce,” Donjor said.

According to him, the offence is punishable under section 285 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.

The defendant pleaded guilty to the charge against him.

Magistrate O. A Erinle adjourned the case till January 15, 2019 for facts and sentence.
