Sifax boss, Afolabi, turns 51
• Appointed into FICAC top positions
Honour, within and outside Nigeria, relentlessly trails the boss of Sifax Group, Dr. Taiwo Afolabi, who turned 51 yesterday.
At the recent meeting of the Board of the World Federation of Consuls (FICAC) held in Kingston, Jamaica, Afolabi was elected Regional Chairman of Honorary Consuls of West Africa, which comprise 17 countries, as well as a member of the FICAC Legal Committee, being a Barrister-at-Law.
It would be recalled that Afolabi was on July 1, 2010, appointed the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Djibouti in Nigeria by President Ismail Omah Guelleh of the Republic of the Djibouti
On July 22, 2010, the Sifax Group boss was conferred with the national honour of Member of the Order of Niger (MON).
Also, at the recent African Achievers Awardheld in Kenya, Afolabi was also honoured with the African Industrialist of the Year award in recognition of his exploits in the business world.
The unassuming business mogul is also a member of the Presidential Business Support Group (BSG) – a think-tank saddled with anchoring the views of the private sector to support the development of the National Integrated Infrastructure Master Plan (NIIMP).
Afolabi is described as a man with a large and tender heart, who has special interest in the less- privileged in the society, which informed his continued funding of Ajoke Ayisat Afolabi Foundation (AAAF) instituted on behalf of his late mother (Alhaja Ajoke Ayisat Afolabi) with the support of his siblings and other family members.
