The Seaport Terminal Operators Association of Nigeria (STOAN) today issued a statement dissociating itself and its members from a planned one-day conference on the review of port concession agreement.
STOAN’s statement reads as follows:
“Our attention has been drawn to the proposed One Day Seminar on “Review of Port Concession Agreement” being organised by the Nigerian Shippers’ Council in conjunction with International Maritime Exhibition and Conference Limited and scheduled to take place on Thursday 30th July 2015 at the Intercontinental Hotel, Plot 52A Kofo Abayomi Street, Victoria Island, Lagos.
“The Association and its members hereby disassociate themselves from the Conference in the light of the pending appeal in Suit No. CA/L/188/2015 presently before the Court of Appeal, Lagos, which matter remains subjudice in all respects including the “role” of the Nigerian Shippers’ Council as Economic Regulator of the Nigerian Ports Industry.
