The ship, Changping sank in the anchorage near Yangtze estuary after it collided with another freighter in the evening hours of January 2.

Three crewmembers, out of a total of 13 who were aboard the vessel, were rescued, Xinhua News Agency reported, citing the country’s maritime search and rescue centre.

At the time of the incident, Changping was loaded with 5,000 tonnes of steel.
