Two Dangote Group workers, accused of stealing raw sugar, who were arraigned before Apapa Magistrates’ Court are to know their fate on June 27, 2017.
The Dangote workers were identified as Yahaya Mohammed and Inuwa Lawal. They had both pleaded not guilty to the two-count charge brought against them. The charges bother on conspiracy and stealing.
The prosecuting counsel, Alexander Esebamen had told the court that the defendants committed the offences on April 26, 2017 at about 4:30am at Dangote Sugar Refinery, Apapa. He said they stole raw sugar valued at N18,000 property of Dangote Sugar Refinery.
The offences contravened sections 409 and 285 (1) of the criminal laws of Lagos State, 2011.
Recently the Apapa Magistrates’ Court cross examined five Dangote workers over allegation of stealing one trailer load of Canadian wheat valued N2.2 million.
The workers, John Bello (34), Olusa Bamidele (32), Ilumoka Johnson (36), Ogbe John (29) and Ibikume Mayowa Adebayo (33), pleaded not guilty to the two-count charge bordering on alleged conspiracy and stealing.
