Truck crushes Lagos APC chairmanship aspirant to death on election eve

Shakiru Balogun, an All Progressives Congress (APC) chairmanship aspirant in Ikotun/Igando local council development area (LCDA) of Lagos, has died.

The deceased was crushed to death by a private sector participation (PSP) truck on the eve of the election.

The tragic incident happened at Okofilli bus stop on the LASU Iba expressway.

Balogun, who was a former chairman of the National Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) of the LCDA, lost the ticket to represent the party in the election.

He was said to be heading to the party secretariat as part of the preparation for the election when he met his untimely end.

The deceased has been buried in accordance with Islamic rites.
