Man steals vital documents, laptop from Naval officer

A 35-year-old truck driver, Aliyu Musa, was on Friday arraigned before an Apapa Magistrates’ Court for allegedly driving recklessly and causing accident in the Apapa area of Lagos State.

Musa is facing a two-count charge bordering on reckless driving and causing an accident.

The prosecutor, Sergeant Marvellous Ogbongha, told the court that the defendant committed the offences on October 12, 2018 at about 9:15am along Liverpool Road, Apapa.

“The defendant, being the driver of a Mack truck with registration number LSD 412 XR, drove the Mack truck on the public highway in a dangerous and reckless manner to other road users,” Obongha said.

The prosecutor also said that the defendant drove same vehicle on the public highway and caused an accident.

According to him, the offences are punishable under sections Law No 4 section 16 and 24 Vol 45 Lagos State Traffic Law 2012.

The defendant however pleaded not guilty to the charge against him.

Magistrate O.A Erinle granted the defendant bail in the sum of N50,000 with one surety.

She adjourned the case till October 30, 2018 for mention.
