Two stowaways to serve four weeks of community service

Apapa Magistrates’ Court has sentenced two stowaways, Kelvin Wessey (25) and Odiyeye Abiye (25), to four weeks of community service after they pleaded guilty to the charge against them.

The prosecutor, Sergeant Adeniyi Balogun had earlier told the court that the accused committed the offence on March 10, 2018 at about 7am at Tin Can Island Port, Apapa.

He said, “Wessey and Abiye entered MSC Paola vessel without purchasing ticket with the intention of travelling to France.”

Magistrate O.S Abioye sentenced the convicts to two weeks of community service within the court premises and two weeks of community service at the General Hospital, Ajeromi.
