WMU Executive Board Meets in Malmö

The World Maritime University (WMU) Executive Board met in Malmö, Sweden on Tuesday for the first time since the university’s new President, Dr Cleopatra Doumbia-Henry assumed office in June.

Board chairman, Torben Skaanild and the members representing various interest groups attended the meeting.

The 11-person Executive Board is appointed by the IMO Secretary-General to facilitate the work of WMU, provide oversight between sessions of the Governing Board, give directions and guidelines as necessary, consider draft plans of work and budgets, report to the Governing Board, and meet no less than three times a year.

Members of the Executive Board serve renewable two-year terms.
