The Nigeria Customs Command and Staff College (NCCSC), Gwagwalada, has graduated 50 officers from Junior Course 21, marking the successful completion of a rigorous three-month training programme aimed at strengthening middle-level management capacity within the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS).
The graduation activities began with a regimental dinner on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, and concluded with a formal ceremony held on Friday, May 2, 2025, at the College’s Ahmad Makarfi Hall.
The Comptroller-General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi, was represented at both events by the Deputy Comptroller-General in charge of Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC), DCG Suleiman Chiroma.
In his address, DCG Chiroma commended the officers for their dedication and resilience, urging them to uphold the Service’s core values of discipline, professionalism, and integrity.
“This College has equipped you with the knowledge required for higher staff and command responsibilities,” he said. “Your capacity to contribute meaningfully to the Nigeria Customs Service and national development has been significantly enhanced.”
The College Commandant, Assistant Comptroller-General Oluyomi Adebakin, also praised the graduates and reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to academic excellence and strict discipline.
“The Nigeria Customs Service has made a strategic investment in your development,” ACG Adebakin said. “This opportunity must not be wasted. The College has zero tolerance for indiscipline, and mediocrity is not celebrated.”
A key highlight of the event was the presentation of certificates and the conferment of the Passed Junior Staff Course (PJSC) qualification on the officers. Several graduates expressed gratitude for the training, noting its significant impact on their leadership and operational capabilities.
With their successful completion of Junior Course 21, the officers are now better equipped to take on strategic roles across various commands and formations nationwide, furthering the Service’s mission of trade facilitation and national security.
