The Murtala Muhammed Airport command said it generated the sum of N5.237 billion in the month of October, 2018.
Public Relations Officer of the command, Ephraim Haruna in a statement obtained by SHIPS & PORTS DAILY said the amount represents an increase of 100.66 percent of the command N5.2 billion monthly target.
He said the sum was also higher than the N3.8billion the command generated in October 2017. He said the increase represented a difference of N1.4 billion in the period under review.
Ephraim attributed the increase revenue to measures put in place by the Controller of the command, Comptroller Jayne Shoboiki to ensure all identified revenue loopholes are blocked.
He said, “Many times, the controller leaves her office and goes to the shed herself to see what is happening. She constantly monitors the agents and what is happening at the cargo shed to ensure that the right thing is done and particularly that all the unutilised airway bills are utilised.”
