An Apapa Magistrates’ Court has resumed the trial of one clearing agent, Frankline Madichie (43) on Monday over an alleged N1.7million fraud.

Madichie is facing a two-count charge bothering on pretence and stealing.

The prosecutor, Tony Elibe had told the court that the defendant committed the offence on August 7, 2013 at 7c, Creek Road, Apapa.

“The defendant fraudulently obtained the sum of N1.7million from Fountain Coast International Limited on the pretence that you are in better position to clear a two-by-40 foot container for them,” he said.

According to him, the offence contravened sections 312 and 285 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State 2011.

The Magistrate, Mukaila Fadeyi adjourned the case till May 2, 2018 for continuation of trial.
