Court sentences man for attempted stealing at Tin Can port 

Four docked for stealing items worth N.7m at Apapa port
An Apapa Magistrates’ Court sitting in Lagos on Monday sentenced a 35-year-old man, Bashiru Mohammed to 20 hours of community service over an attempt to steal motor parts at Tin Can Island Port.

Mohammed, who was arraigned on June 5, 2018 on a one-count charge bothering on attempt to steal, pleaded guilty.

The port prosecutor, Sergeant Adeniyi Balogun gave the fact of the case that the accused committed the offence on

May 30, 2018 at about 2:30am at First Gate, RORO Port, Tin-Can Island, Apapa.

“The accused attempted to steal motor parts in Alhaji Yaro Park property of Alhaji Yaro,” Balogun said.

According to him, the offence is punishable under section 21 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State 2015.

Magistrate A.S Okubule sentenced the accused for 20 hours of community service.
