The PTML Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) said it generated a total sum of N40.7 billion into the federation account between January and June 2017.

A statement by the command’s Public Relations Officer, Yakubu Muhammad said the amount is against the sum of N27.5 billion collected within the corresponding period of 2016, representing a 32.6 percent increase.

Muhammad said the collection was made possible by the increase in cargo throughput and “diligence on the part of Customs officers” at the command.
