Emotions, outpouring at Promise Anaroke's night of tribute

It’s was a battle of suppressed emotions as friends and members of different maritime female groups like the Women’s International Shipping and Trading Association (WISTA), Women in Logistics and Transport (WILAT) and the Women in Maritime Africa (WIMA) paid glowing tributes to late Promise Anaroke – wife of top maritime journalist and Publisher of MMS newspaper, Kingsley Anaroke. 

Mrs. Anaroke died in October at the age of 45. 

Other segments of the society and the maritime industry including the media had good things to say about the deceased. 

Some dignitaries at the event included former Acting Managing Director, National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA), Mrs Chinwe Ezenwa; a three-time gubernatorial candidate in Lagos State, Jimi Agbaje; former Director-General, Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Mrs Mfon Usoro; President, Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA), Tony Iju Nwabunike; President, National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF), Increase Uche and the Founder of NAGAFF, Dr. Boniface Aniebonam, among several others. 

The late Promised Anaroke, who was eulogized for her numerous contributions to the maritime industry was a member of WISTA, WILAT and WIMA. 

She will be buried in Enugu State on November 29.
