All is now set for the official public presentation of a book titled ‘Maritime Capacity Development in Nigeria’ written by Francis Ezem, Maritime Editor of National Mirror Newspapers.
The author, in a statement released over the weekend said the Minister of Transport, Senator Idris Umar has accepted to attend the event as Special Guest of Honour while the Senior Special Adviser to President Goodluck Jonathan, Leke Oyewole will be the Guest of Honour.
The event is billed for Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at the Rockview Hotel, Park Lane Apapa, Lagos at 10 am.
Other dignitaries expected at the event include the Director General, Nigerian Maritime Adminstration and Safety Agency, Mr. Ziakede Patrick Akpobolokemi, who the book was also dedicated to and Managing Director of the Nigerian Ports Authority, Mallam Habib Abdullahi.
Also expected is the Executive Secretary, Nigerian Shippers Council, Barrister Hassan Bello, among several others.
The occasion will also feature a public lecture entitled ‘Capacity: The Future of Nigeria’s Maritime Industry’ to be delivered by Charles Okerefe, Managing Director/CEO KAMANY Marine Services Ltd., an indigenous oil and gas, freight forwarding and logistics firm.
Okerefe is also a lecturer with the Charters Institute of Shipping (CIS).
