Malta International Airport on Friday resumed normal operations, hours after a Libyan internal flight was hijacked and diverted to Malta.

“Some flights had been diverted and others have experienced delays at the airport,” Malta International Airport said.

The hijacked airplane landed at Malta International Airport at 11:32 a.m. local time.

Malta Prime Minister Joseph Muscat said it has 111 passengers on board, comprising 82 males, 28 females, and one infant.
