Man pleads guilty to stabbing motorboy in Apapa

A 33-year-old man identified as Peter Nwosu on Wednesday pleaded guilty before an Apapa Magistrates’ Court sitting in Lagos to a count charge of assaulting a motorboy by stabbing him on the face with broken bottle. 

The prosecutor, Sergeant Balogun Adeniyi, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on April 21, 2019 at about 5:30am at Sunrise under brigde, Olodi-Apapa.

“The defendant stabbed one Kelechi Mgbemele with broken bottle on his face and hand,” Balogun said.

According to him, the offence is punishable under section 173 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.

Magistrate T.R Oladele adjourned the matter till May 8, 2019 for facts and sentence.
